Term 3 2025
(More information under Events)
Please note that our Class, Absentee, Sibling, and Big Girl–Little Girl photos will now be taken on Wednesday, 15 October (the first week back in Term 4).
We kindly ask parents to save the date and ensure the girls are looking smart in their uniforms on the day. Further details will be shared closer to the time.
The excitement is building — our production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now less than a month away.
With the final stretch approaching, it is essential that all girls attend the Saturday rehearsals so that they are fully prepared for the show.
If, for a valid reason, your daughter is unable to attend a Saturday rehearsal, please ensure that you provide the reason in writing to both the Director, Debora G, and the Headmistress, Audrey Gray.
Please note: if main cast members are absent from Saturday rehearsals without a valid written excuse from their parents, the school may be forced to replace them, as this impacts the entire cast and production.
We can’t wait to see the magic come alive on stage — thank you for supporting your daughters as they prepare for this unforgettable production.

We are thrilled to launch our very first Spring Reading Bingo Challenge at Micklefield. This fun initiative is designed to spark a love of reading while raising funds for our much-anticipated new swimming pool.
On Spring Day Monday (1 September), each girl will receive a Reading Bingo sheet filled with exciting book-related activities — such as reading outdoors, reading a red book, or reading a joke book. Each completed challenge can be signed off by a parent, class teacher, or specialist teacher, and girls may complete as many sheets as they like.
📚 How it works:
To keep things fair and fun, prizes will be awarded across four age categories:
Grades 00–1
Grades 2 & 3
Grades 4 & 5
Grades 6 & 7
The challenge runs from 1 – 14 September, with the lucky draw happening on the last day of Term 3.
Let’s get reading and make this an exciting and meaningful adventure for our girls.
The Grade 0s are asking all families to donate gently used books – for all ages – to the secondhand book stall.
To make it extra fun, we’re turning it into a House Competition.
Will it be the Robins, Kingfishers, or Swallows who come out on top?
You can donate books by dropping them off at the back of the hall, in your house box.
Start clearing those shelves and let’s see which house can build the biggest book mountain! 📖💪
The Grade 3s are gearing up for their Bric-a-Brac Stall, and we’re calling on all families to help fill the tables.
We’re collecting good-quality, pre-loved treasures — think:
Drop your donations off in the foyer of the hall, and help us turn clutter into cash for a good cause.
The Grade 6s are preparing for the ever-popular Lucky Draw at the Micklefield Market, and we’re looking for fabulous prizes to make it our best one yet.
Prizes can be big or small — from vouchers, hampers, and beauty products to wine, homeware, or fun family experiences. Every donation helps make the draw exciting and supports our school.
If you or your business can contribute, please fill in the donations Google Form below.
Let’s make this a Lucky Draw to remember!

We couldn’t be more proud to celebrate one of our shining stars—Anna van Aarde, Grade 7 Class of 2021—on being appointed Head of House (Carter) for 2026 at Herschel Girls School.
Congratulations, Anna. Your Micklefield family beams with pride and excitement for all that you’ll achieve in 2026 and beyond.
Congratulations to our Inter-Schools Cross Country Team who took part in the PGSGU competition on Friday, 22 August held at Rustenburg High School. Our runners did us proud by finishing 5th overall, with our U10 age group being placed third in their age category.
A special mention to Morgan (Grade 7), who was awarded a certificate for showing grit and resilience during her U13 race.
Congratulations to Annabelle (Grade 5) who represented the Southern Zone in the Metro Cross Country Champs on Saturday, 16 September. Competing against approximately 70 other U11 runners from the various zones, Annabelle ran a time of 14.19 for her 3kms. We are very proud of you, Annabelle!
On Monday 25 August our U13A and U12A netball teams took part in the PGSGU Inter-Schools Netball Tournament held at St Cyprians. It was a tough day on the courts for our girls who played so well, but the results just did not go their way. Well done girls for your hard work.
Well done to our three musicians: Rosa (Recorder), Julia and Imaan, for performing their solos so beautifully in assembly
Congratulations to Coach Simon from Sports Hub (and our Grade 1 and Grade 2 hockey Coach) and his wife, Abigail, on the birth of their little boy, Nate.
