Here’s what you need to know:
✅ Download the Woolworths App and register (this is NOT creating a Woolworths card account)
✅ Go to the ‘Loyalty’ icon along the bottom, then select ‘Causes’
✅ ‘Add a Cause’ and search for Micklefield to select us as your cause.
It’s that easy!
Thank you for your continued support and together, we’ll ensure Micklefield continues to benefit from this wonderful initiative.
This week our Grade 6 girls visited Woodside Village and were warmly welcomed by the residents. What a special surprise it was to meet some Micklefield Old Girls, as well as our much-loved past Principal, Mrs Jenny Masterson, and past Librarian, Ms Ro Donnelly.
The girls delighted in hearing stories, sharing smiles, and connecting across generations — a reminder of the strong Micklefield bond that continues long after school days. 🌸📖
The updated 2025 sport and extra-mural programme is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App, under Documentation. A big thank you to all our coaches for their passion and enthusiasm and for improving our girls’ skills and match play over the season.
The season is now complete; there are no more practices or races.
Thank you to all our parents who have been marshalling on the route each Wednesday; without your help, we would not be able to do this. You are appreciated!
Our very first Spring Reading Bingo Challenge has come to a close, and what an adventure it has been!
The girls embraced the fun of reading in creative ways, and their enthusiasm has been inspiring. We will now be tallying up all the completed sheets, and entries for the lucky draw will be finalised.
A reminder that all completed Book Bingo sheets must be paid for on Karri (R250 each) by Monday, 15 September in order to qualify for the lucky draw. Only paid entries will be included. Don’t miss out – Exclusive Books vouchers and book hampers are up for grabs.
A huge thank you to all our families for supporting this initiative, helping us not only to grow a love of reading but also to raise funds towards our new swimming pool. Keep an eye out for the announcement of our lucky draw winners on the last day of term.
The Grade 3s are gearing up for their Bric-a-Brac Stall, and we’re calling on all families to help fill the tables.
We’re collecting good-quality, pre-loved treasures — think:
Drop your donations off in the foyer of the hall, and help us turn clutter into cash for a good cause.
The Grade 6s are preparing for the ever-popular Lucky Draw at the Micklefield Market, and we’re looking for fabulous prizes to make it our best one yet.
Prizes can be big or small — from vouchers, hampers, and beauty products to wine, homeware, or fun family experiences. Every donation helps make the draw exciting and supports our school.
If you or your business can contribute, please fill in the donations Google Form below.
Let’s make this a Lucky Draw to remember!

The Grade 0s are asking all families to donate gently used books – for all ages – to the secondhand book stall.
To make it extra fun, we’re turning it into a House Competition.
Will it be the Robins, Kingfishers, or Swallows who come out on top?
You can donate books by dropping them off at the back of the hall, in your house box.
Start clearing those shelves and let’s see which house can build the biggest book mountain! 📖💪
The Inter-House hockey tournament took place on Tuesday, 9 September. It was a great way to end the season! Well done to the Kingfishers, who finished 1st overall, with the Swallows in second place and the Robins in third place.
On Wednesday, 10 September, our U12 girls played some netball matches against their Moms. It was a great afternoon of fun, very good skills from the Moms and much determination from the girls. After a total of four matches, the girls came out on top 8-6.
Well done to the Grade 6 and Grade 7 girls and some parents who participated in the VUSA Cycle Challenge at Bishops on Saturday, 6 September. The girls had to cycle on a stationary bike for 30 minutes each. A great initiative by Joanna in Grade 7 to get a Micklefield team, ‘The Micklefield Mickey Mouses’ together for a worthy cause. Their 12 hours of cycling helped to raise over R1 million for the VUSA Foundation who provide meals to children in their after-school programme. The money will also go to expanding their English programme to reach children in Grades 1-3.
Grade 7s: Joanna, Charlotte, Mila, Emily de G, Hana
Grade 6s: Catherine, Ella, Victoria, Jess, Sienna, Emily T
Grade 5: Annabelle B

A big thank you to everyone who donated to the ‘Jars of Hope’ initiative run by the Outreach Committee.
Micklefield School was able to collect more than 70 jars. These jars were donated to the Friends with Compassion organisation in Kuils River this week.
The grade 3s have been helping to clear the astro and made a nest with all the leaves they collected.
The Grade 00 and Grade 0 classes went to sing at The Manor Retirement Home in Pinelands on Wednesday. The oldies thoroughly enjoyed listening to our girls sing with gusto, joy and lots of actions.
International Literacy Day was this week. At Micklefield, we definitely enjoy reading, so here’s to stories that inspire and voices that shine.
Senior Assembly
What a spectacular setting for some very beautiful piano performances by Noor, Scarlett, Grace and Olivia and violin solos performed by Jessica and Dani.
The Grade 5s PBL museum displays are coming together beautifully. The girls have been collaborating, designing and planning for most of the term, and they’re feeling proud of the amazing work they produced. The level of creativity the girls have displayed has been so fun to observe.
A big congratulations to Annabelle and Bianca in Grade 4!
These two collaborated to write and illustrate their own book, which they entered into the local library competition. Their book was shortlisted, and at Saturday’s prize giving they were awarded 2nd place in the Age 9–13 category for Best Artwork! 🏆👏
We are so proud of our talented young authors and artists. 🌟
Congratulations to our Guitar teacher, Mr Alexandros Vavatzanidis on his recent graduation at UCT with a Masters’ in Music – specialising in Composition and Dissertation, awarded with Distinction.
