events

The much-loved Shimmy and Slice is back for 2025. Get ready for an evening of fun, laughter, and lots of dancing!

Traditionally, our Grade 5 girls invite their dads to join them on the dance floor, but we know this isn’t always possible. Girls are welcome to bring along any special adult in their lives—whether it’s a grandfather, uncle, or another family member.

This year, we will be having fun with some Country Western and Line Dancing. And of course, no Micklefield event would be complete without pizza to fuel the fun!

Book your space now on KARRI—don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening of music, movement, and memories.

Grade 6 Conflict Resolution Workshop

A big thank-you to Mrs Welgemoed, our past principal, for running another insightful and engaging Conflict Resolution Workshop with the Grade 6 girls. As they prepare to take on their leadership roles in 2026, this session equipped them with valuable tools to navigate challenges, communicate effectively, and lead with empathy and understanding. We are so grateful for her continued guidance and support.

Grade 2 PE – throwing & catching practice

Grade 2 celebrates Rachel’s birthday

The Grade 2 class had fun celebrating Mrs Meredith’s daughter’s first birthday this week.

Happy Birthday, Rachel.

Grade 5 science experiment – burning of fuels

Congratulations to Anna H and Emily for their excellent performances on the Recorder at the Trinity College London Examination.

Well done Ms Smith

We are so proud of Alison Smith, who will be running the Cape Town Marathon this Sunday.

She is one of the very few people to have completed every single CT Marathon since it began. It would be wonderful to have our girls along the route on Sunday to cheer her on and show their support.

Alison Smith has also impressively completed a parkrun for every letter of the alphabet (except X, as there isn’t one!). This Saturday, she and Mrs Steffen will be volunteering at the Rondebosch parkrun. Girls who participate and say hello to them will earn house points—a great way to get active and support our inspiring role models.
