Micklefield Turns 100 in 2028

  • Payment has already been made from the class kitty, but if you would like to contribute to the support staff end-of-year gift fund, you are welcome to do so via KARRI.

Grades 1-3

sports and extra murals

The updated 2025 sport and extra-mural programme is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App, under Documentation.  Please check both the Term 1 and 4 (Summer) and the Term 2 and 3 (Winter) schedules when doing your planning for the new year. All information with regards to the private extra-murals on offer is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-Murals.  Please liaise directly with the extra-mural providers.

WINTER SPORT: 2ND AND 3rd TERMS:

Please put the winter sport information letter in a visible place so as to avoid unnecessary calls and Whatsapp messages.

NETBALL:

All netball practices and matches are now complete for Term 2.

The new fixtures for Term 3 are available on the Ed-Admin portal under Documents, Sport and Extra-Murals.  They have also been sent out on the class Sports Whatsapp groups.

First practice is on Wednesday, 23 July and first matches on Wednesday, 30 July.

CROSS COUNTRY :

The first cross country practice will be on Wednesday, 23 July for Grade 3-7 and on Wednesday, 30 July for Grade 1 and Grade 2.

INTER-HOUSE NETBALL:

We had a wonderful afternoon of Inter-House Netball on Wednesday for the Grade 3 – Grade 7 girls. The weather played it’s part and the matches were played in great spirit with many of the girls stepping up to replace others who were absent. Well done to the Swallows who were the overall winners with the Robins in second place and the Kingfishers in third place.

Chef Ally treated her cooking girls and the Staff to delicious burgers on Wednesday
Ana was so happy to be back and running cross country today after being sick for the past few weeks. She managed to run her best time this term.

The Grade 1’s enjoyed their final cross-country run of the term. They have been absolute SUPERSTAR runners this term. We are so proud of them.

Science Expo: Grade 4-7

We are so proud of all of our dancing girls who took part in the Cape Dance Festival. We have so many talented young ladies.

Holiday Care information

Junior Holiday Club – Limited Spaces Available

Mrs Hlanza is offering a Junior Holiday Club at Micklefield School during the first week of the holidays, from Monday 30 June to Friday 4 July, at a cost of R250 per day. Sign-up forms were sent home today with the Grade 00–2 girls. If your daughter would like to attend, please return the completed form along with cash in a clearly marked envelope as soon as possible. Only 30 places are available, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment.

  • Date: 30 Monday June – Friday 4 July
  • Time: 08:30 – 13:30
  • Cost: R250 per day
  • Venue: Multifunction Room, Micklefield School
  • Dress: comfortable clothes, bring an apron

The Makery Holiday Craft Workshops

My name is Kim Snapper, and I am a local arts and crafts facilitator offering extra-mural craft lessons designed specifically for primary school children. I offer both weekly lessons and individual workshops. Our lessons are not only fun and creative but also help develop fine motor skills, patience, and self-expression in young learners.
