Our dedicated aftercare staff work hard to create a safe and nurturing space for the girls, and we appreciate your support in respecting their time as they also need to head home after a long day.

Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, 13 March 2025, from 18:00 to 19:00 in the school hall. We encourage all parents and guardians to attend as we reflect on the past year and discuss future plans for our school community. We look forward to seeing you there!
Congratulations to all the girls who took part in today’s interhouse cross country! Swallows, Robins, and Kingfishers gave it their all, showing incredible determination and team spirit. Well done on an amazing effort – you made your houses proud.
The updated 2025 sport and extra-mural programme is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App, under Documentation. Please check both the Term 1 and 4 (Summer) and the Term 2 and 3 (Winter) schedules when doing your planning for the new year. All information with regards to the private extra-murals on offer is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-Murals. Please liaise directly with the extra-mural providers.
The tennis fixture lists are available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App under Documents, Sport. A reminder that the teams and venues for each week will be posted on the Sport Whatsapp group on a Monday. Venues might differ from the fixture list due to the availability of courts.
Swimming gala lists will be sent out every Wednesday on the class Sport Whatsapp group for those swimming in that Friday’s gala.
Jeanne- Marie Engelbrecht has been doing our customized gum guards for many years. These are more suited to the older girls. A normal shop bought gum guard is absolutely fine, but if you are wanting a customized one for your daughter, please see the info under Documents, Sport. Hard copies have been given to all interested girls from Grade 3-7. These forms and POP must be returned to Sandi Blackbeard by MONDAY, 24 FEBRUARY.
Micklefield is now an affiliated school for Western Cape Schools Cycling. https://westerncapeschoolscycling.co.za/
While cycling is not becoming an official sport for the school we are encouraging girls to get active and if your daughter wants to give this a try she can participate as a Micklefield rider. There will be a number of mountain bike races in the league this year, each hosted by a different school. The mountain bike races are between 3 and 7km for primary school ages, in a lap race format (distances graded by age group).
The school has affiliated for up to 10 riders at this stage. For a girl to participate as a Micklefield rider parents will need to do the following:

Rondebosch Boys Prep School is hosting their first Junior School MTB race for this year on Saturday, 22 March at Keurboom Park from 14.00 – 16.00.

Congratulations to all our swimmers who took part in the PGSGU gala held at the Herschel Senior School pool on Friday, 14 February. The PGSGU competitions are between the 8 girls’ schools – Micklefield, Springfield, Greenfield, RGJS, WGJS, Herschel, St Cyprians and Oakhurst. The girls swam with heart and cheered with great spirit, finishing 7th overall, an excellent result for the only school without their own pool!
The Grade 4s had fun making donuts in cooking this week.
