Keeping Our School Community Healthy

We strive to ensure that our school remains a safe and healthy environment for all. With the changing seasons and various illnesses circulating, we kindly ask for your support in minimising the spread of sickness among our students and staff.

If your child is feeling unwell, has a fever, persistent cough, sore throat, or any other contagious symptoms, please keep them at home to rest and recover.

A Heartwarming Performance of The Velveteen Rabbit

Our Grade 1-3 girls shone brightly this week as they brought The Velveteen Rabbit to life on stage. Their heartfelt performance captured the magic and emotion of this beloved tale, leaving the audience captivated and proud.

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, and families who joined us for the evening and morning performances. Your support and enthusiasm made the event even more special. We also deeply appreciate the generous donations made via SnapScan toward the Micklefield pool fund.

Congratulations to our talented young performers for an unforgettable show!

Sports & Extra-Murals

The updated 2025 sport and extra-mural programme is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App, under Documentation.  Please check both the Term 1 and 4 (Summer) and the Term 2 and 3 (Winter) schedules when doing your planning for the new year. All information with regards to the private extra-murals on offer is available on the Ed-Admin Multi Portal App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-Murals.  Please liaise directly with the extra-mural providers.

When planning extra-mural for 2025, please note that during terms 1 and 4, all classes from Grade 4 – 7 have a compulsory Sports Hour which takes place after school from 14.30 – 15.30 as follows:

  • Monday: Grade 5
  • Tuesday: Grade 7
  • Wednesday: Grade 6
  • Thursday: Grade 4

This falls away during terms 2 and 3 and is replaced with netball and hockey practices and matches.  Please see the sport programme for details.

SPORT HOUR 2024: GRADE 4 – 7

The compulsory Sport Hour for Grade 4-7 will finish on

  • Monday, 25 Nov (Grade 5),
  • Tuesday, 26 Nov (Grade 7),
  • Wednesday, 27 Nov (Grade 6)
  • Thursday, 28 November (Grade 4).

TENNIS

Early morning tennis practices at WPCC are now complete for the term as well as Thursday afternoon fixtures.

Trials/challenge matches for the Open teams will be played on Wednesday, 15 January, Thursday, 16 January, Friday, 17 January and possibly some matches on Saturday, 18 January, all at Micklefield.  This is a process and depends on results as to who needs to come on which days.  Parents will be emailed this term with the list of girls for the Wednesday and Thursday.  At the start of next term, the next round of players will be notified. If your daughter wants to play in a team, she needs to be available to play on all the listed days.

The current Grade 6s and Grade 5s will play in the Open League and players are placed by strength, not grade.

The current Grade 4s going into Grade 5 in 2025 will also be placed in teams, playing in the U11 League.  Their trials/challenge matches will be on Saturday, 18 January at Micklefield.  Parents will be notified.

Matches are played on Thursday afternoons. The Open A, B and C teams have their early morning practice on Mondays at WPCC, the Open D, E and F teams have their early morning practice on Wednesdays at WPCC as well as the U11 teams.

Please see under Documents on the Ed-Admin Portal App for BVTS clinics during the holidays.
