Development Fund

Our facilities are constantly being upgraded to keep abreast of the technologicl challenges of the 21st century. Funds from the Development Fund will be used to upgrade our Library and Technology Library.

Bursary Scheme

Micklefield has educated a number of girls from disadvantaged backgrounds during its history of 85 years. Our bursary girls have gone on to excellent high schools and have achieved well, the majority of whom have gone on to tertiary education. To this end we have initiated a Bursary Scheme to assist these girls. The bursary was instituted in honour of Theo Hendrickse, a past parent and member of the Board.

In this economic climate it has become increasingly evident that in order to sustain this Bursary Scheme we need to raise funds.  Donations from parents and past pupils as well as an annual Bursary Walk Fundraiser boost the Bursary Scheme. The Bursary Scheme affords children who would otherwise not have the financial means to benefit from a Micklefield education, the opportunity to do so.

In the words of two of the Bursary Scheme sponsors:

“We would like to help you boost the bursary scheme, as I do believe the wonderful energy of Micklefield needs to be felt in broader communities”.

Suzanne Ackerman-Berman (Transformation Director at Pick ‘n Pay)

“I was  deeply touched by the young past pupil, who spoke so movingly about her indebtedness to Micklefield, for having given her the education, nurturance and confidence she would never have had otherwise, enabling her to become her best self and to excel at secondary school. I have no doubt she will excel in her studies at UCT as well.”

Susan Sonnenburg (Principal Wellington Preparatory School)

All donations will benefit both current and future Micklefield pupils and will be most gratefully received.
