We are currently raising money to purchase a school bus, however we will be in need of more than one bus as well as drivers. We would welcome any parent who could possibly advise on any of the above mentioned. Please contact Sandi Blackbeard either on email sandi@micklefield.co.za or on Whatsapp 082 445 0761

Foundation Phase Recapping Values learnt this term in Assembly on Monday
Heading towards the end of term the Grade 5's enjoyed a P4C lesson. Each group was expected to write down 8 questions they might have had after we’ve read the book, Tusk Tusk by David McKee. The girls voted on one philosophical question to further discuss in their community of enquiry. The question was, “Does it really matter what colour we are?” the discussion was insightful and thought provoking. The girls were challenged to truly listen before responding which was lovely to observe.
Hannah Eachus, Grade 6 took part in a gymkhana on 10 June. Her pony, Misty, is a rescue; the two confidently navigated their way through different obstacles. In the two rounds Hannah and Misty entered, the duo placed 1st. Well done, Hannah and Misty!
Grade 7's - Who said you can't have fun organising your Google Drive in the last week of school!
Two Grade 7 debating teams showcased the process of debating, by arguing the topic 'Computers should replace Teachers' at the Drama Evening. Both sides put forward some valid, persuasive arguments, but time did not allow for in-depth, rigorous discussion. Debating has been introduced in English lessons in the Intermediate Phase, and the girls are enjoying using their critical thinking skills in the process. Well done to, Lorenza Gonzallez, Dani Barow, Anabelle Rowe, Isla Cameron (Judge), Carrie Killops, Zehreen Vallie and Simrah Ally.
