GUIDING FOUNDERS DAY

In celebration of World Thinking Day, the Guide and Scouts Association Founders Day, girls may wear their respective Teddy, Brownie, Guide or Ranger uniform to school on Thursday the 22nd of February 2024.

Sports Day: 07:00 – 11:30

  • Saturday 24 February (Please see all information and programme for Sports Day on the Edana App under Documents – Sport & Extra-Murals).
  • Please see an exciting new event, the Dad’s Relay Race!
  • Please also note that the Grade 3-7 Fancy Hats and cross-country race will take place on THURSDAY, 22 FEBRUARY, and not Friday, 23 February due to the St Cyprians Open Day for Grade 7s.
  • A reminder that all pupils must be at school by 06.50 on Saturday, 24 January.
  • There are still a few slots to be filled for volunteering at one of the stalls on Sports Day. Please click here to offer your support: Sports Day Roster Sign Up

HOUSEKEEPING

  • Please note that girls will no longer be allowed to phone home for items they have forgotten at home i.e aprons, shoes, sports kit, etc. We would like them to learn to take responsibility for bringing the necessary kit to school.
  • Menezi (Theo) is a much-loved member of the Micklefield family. His core role is that of a security guard and to look after the safety of our girls. Please respect this and do not drop items off with him expecting him to deliver them personally to the girls. Parents are asked to park and bring items to the reception themselves. Thank you for your co-operation.
  • A reminder that no glass water bottles are permitted at school for safety reasons.

UNIFORM HATS

Our school uniform policy (refer to Edana App – Documents) states that girls in Grades 1-2 may wear the white Micklefield caps and the grey Micklefield caps are for Grades 3-7. If the grey cap is way too big for your daughter in Grades 3-7, a white cap can then be worn. Every child must have a hat at school every day.

LOST PROPERTY

All unclaimed and unmarked lost property has now been absorbed into the Second Hand Uniform shop. This will be the procedure at the end of each week. Marked items that are picked up around the school are being handed out to the girls daily in their classrooms, at a cost of 10 house points for each item (Gr1-7).

The 2025 Term Dates were e-mailed to parents this past week and are also available on the Edana App under Documentation, together with the 2024 Term Dates.

weekly snapshots

The Grade 3s thoroughly enjoyed working in groups to display all the knowledge they gained whilst exploring their insect theme. Look at the beautiful detailed drawings they made!

They then went on to showcase their insect research by collaborating on Slides to create presentations. The girls blew Mrs Dey away with their amazing collaboration skills!

Congratulations to the following music students for receiving their Trinity College London certificates: Sophie Fyvie (Recorder), Hana Salie (Piano) and Lise Muller (Musical Theatre: Singing)
Well done to Faye Peter for being our first junior musician to perform her piano solo in assembly.

The school was decked in red, white, and pink for Valentine’s Day. Well done, Grade 7s, and thanks to all who supported!
