Term 1 Aftercare Forms are to have been completed and returned to school by Friday 20 January. Both Junior and Senior Aftercare Forms are available for reference on the Edana App under documentation.
Parents are please to ensure that they have downloaded the Edana App and updated their own Personal Information (contact details of both parents/guardians) and the Health Information of their daughter/s by Friday 27 January at the latest.
The 2023 sport and extra-mural programme is available on the Edana App, under Documentation. Please check both the Term 1 and 4 (Summer) and the Term 2 and 3 (Winter) schedules when doing your planning.
There have been a number of changes to times and days of certain extra-murals, especially school run extra-murals in order to accommodate sport, choirs and marimbas.
Please note that during Terms 1 and 4 there is a compulsory Sport Hour for all Grade 3 – 7 pupils. The Grade 3 lesson takes place during the school day, but the Grade 4 -7 takes place from 14.30 – 15.30.
This falls away in Terms 2 and 3 in order to accommodate the winter sports.
It is compulsory for all girls from Grade 3-7 to do at least one winter sport, but both hockey and netball is encouraged as we enter 2 teams into the leagues and must have enough players to fill these teams.
Cross country training is compulsory for all Grade 3-7 pupils and this takes place during second break on Wednesdays during Term 2 and 3. We will be asking for parents to volunteer to be marshals at this time to keep our girls safe on the road. Further info will go out nearer the time.
There will be a hired bus to take the Grade 4-7 hockey players to practice on Tuesdays at WPCC. This is during the school day. Parents then collect directly from WPCC at 14.45.
There will also be a hired bus to take the Grade 5 -7 girls to netball practice on Monday afternoons at RGHS. Parents then collect directly from RGHS at 16.00.
These lessons start from Monday, 23 January 2023.
All information with regards to the private extra-murals on offer are available on the Edana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals. Please liaise directly with the extra-mural providers.
We are very excited to introduce a new extra-mural, Sport Hub which offers a multi-sport programme aimed at ensuring competence in our pupils. They run a structured programme starting with Grade 00s and Grade 0s and then Grade 1, 2 and 3s. It is a build on from Playball and will be an excellent extra-mural especially for our Grade 0, 1 and 2 pupils.
We have also added Yoga and the Christian Club to our extra-mural programme. See Flyer for the Christian Club on the Edana App under Documentation.
Please note the following changes:
Creative Dance for Grade 0 has moved to a Tuesday at 13.30 – 14.00 in order to alleviate a clash with Curious Cubs and Sports Hub. Junior Choir will be held in the Multifunction room on Thursdays from 07.25 – 07.55. There are no auditions, all Grade 2 and Grade 3 pupils who are interested, are welcome. Madrassah will be held in the Grade 2 classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays :13.30 – 14.30 for Grade 00 – 2 and 14.30 – 15.30 for Grade 3 -7.
Apologies for any inconvenience, but we are trying to accommodate as many extra-murals as possible!
The early morning practices start from Monday, 23 January for the respective groups. Parents were emailed at the end of last year. Please ensure that your daughter attends otherwise her place will be given to someone on the waiting list.
For private tennis lessons, please see the BVTS Micklefield Tennis Academy information in the Adana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals.
Gala training starts on Tuesday, 24 January at the Rondebosch Boys’ High School pool for the U11s, U12s and U13s from 06.45 – 07.30 and at Rustenburg Girls’ High School pool for the U8s, U9s and U10s from 16.30 – 17.30. Entry to the RBHS pool is via Canigou Road and to the RGHS pool from Campground Road. Trials for the gala squad will be held on the first practice day for all the age groups. We will need any Grade 2s who are able to swim a length of a 25m pool in any stroke to attend these trials as we have to have an U8 team!
