GRADE 7 PLAY

Please click on the link to book and purchase tickets (this applies to both performances). The snapscan QR code for payment is on the form: TICKET BOOKINGS 

24 May @ 19:00 for Adults/Scholars/Seniors

  • Presently there are only 21 tickets still available for this performance before we reach the 100 mark capacity.  Book now to avoid disappointment. 
  • Tickets will be sent home with your daughter

25 May @ 11:00 for Grades 3-6s

  • Grade 3-6s are to come to school “dressed for the Theatre” on Wednesday 25 May. Please bring PhysEd clothes to school to get changed into after the show for netball matches. 
  • Tickets will be handed out at school by class teachers

MICKLEFIELD LUNCH BAGS

Please note that the Micklefield lunch bags are out of stock at the School Shop due to supplier shortages. Micklefield lunch bags are an optional purchase and are not part of the school uniform.

The winter sport/extra-mural programme is available on the Edana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals. 

Fixture lists for both hockey and netball are also available on the Adana App under Documents, Sport/Extra-Murals.  Please note that each week all the information and team lists for that particular week will be sent out after the practices for the matches taking place that week.

WPCC HOCKEY CLINICS
Please see the information on the Edana App under Documentation for the Sunday morning clinics that are being run at the WPCC.  We are trying to up the skill level of our players and extra time on the ball and field would be very beneficial for many of them.  Unfortunately one practice a week is not enough time to cover fitness, skills and game time!

HOCKEY

Tuesday, 24 May:  Practices

  • U9s at Micklefield from 13.30 – 14.30
  • U10, U11, Open teams at WPCC – parents collect from there at 14.45

Thursday, 26 May: Matches vs Fish Hoek – please see directions and early exit from school times on the team sheets

  • U9A and U9B at Fish Hoek Primary – leave school at 14.00
  • U10A and U10B at Fish Hoek Primary – leave school at 14.00
  • U11A and U11B at Fish Hoek Primary – leave school at 14.00
  • Open A and Open B at Fish Hoek Primary – leave school at 14.30

All teams playing at the away venues, go straight to the venue, irrespective of the time of each match.  Players may leave after their match is completed, unless they are a reserve for another match. 

Exact details for each team will be on the team lists that will be sent out via the class Whatsapp group on Tuesday, after the hockey practices.  Parents are reminded that they are please to transport players to and from the matches.  Spectators are allowed. 

NETBALL

Monday, 23 May: Practices

  • U9 and U10 at Micklefield from 14.30 – 15.30
  • U11, U12 and U13 at Rustenburg High School from 14.45 – 16.00

Wednesday, 25 May: Matches vs Groote Schuur Primary

  • U9 A at Groote Schuur Primary

  • U12 A and B at Micklefield
  • U13 A and B at Micklefield

weekly snapshots

A team of 6, Grade 6and 7 girls took part in the General knowledge Quiz. There were 14 teams from 12 different schools. Herzlia hosted the first round of the competition. Camps Bay is hosting the second round. The final will be made up of the top 6 schools. Micklefield was placed third in the first round. Thank you to Ms Keeton for accompanying the team and prepping them so thoroughly. It was a very exciting afternoon!
Jeannette Welgemoed, Sue Walker and Jacki Steffen attended the SA Girls' School Conference. The focus of the conference was 'Sustainability'. The speakers focused on the important topics of Environmental Sustainability, Social Sustainability, Financial Sustainability and Human Sustainability. It was a valuable opportunity to connect, learn and engage with fellow leaders in girls' schools education.

The Grade 3s were privileged to welcome Dr Matthews, a paleontologist, who presented a workshop on fossils. This was a fascinating, hands-on experience.

A huge thank you to Toni-Rae Adams for arranging a fun-filled marimba workshop for our Grade 6 and 7 girls on Saturday 14 May.

The Grade 00s have loved exploring all the fun Autumn has to offer!

The Grace 7s have looked at different reinforcement and stabilising techniques during the term, in Technology. They are now creating a cell phone tower structure that suits an environment of their choice.

Well done to our 5 pianists: Hanna McDavid, Sophia Trout, Lily Yazbek, Noor Bray and Kruti Chhiba as well as our flautist: Jamie Henchi, for their fine performances in Senior Assembly.

The Grade 6 class presented excellent scenes this week in Drama showing their use of stage positions. 

Making Maths practical: Grade 4s worked in groups to consolidate their division knowledge.
