Congratulations to Unarine Malada (above left) who has been selected for the U13 WP A Hockey Team and to Zinathi Mkosi (above centre) who has been selected for the WP B Hockey Team.  Both these girls will be competing in tournaments to be held in the July holidays.  Well done girls, we are extremely proud of you!

SWIMMING MASCOT

Ava Pattenden (Grade 4, above right) and her family have very kindly donated a swimming mascot to the school.  The idea came to mind when Ava’s mom noticed a number of schools with mascots at the Inter-Schools gala earlier this year.  We would like to name our new member of the Micklefield family so we will be holding a competition to choose a name for our penguin.  Girls can hand in to reception their name of choice with their own name and grade alongside. Entries are to be in by Monday 9th May.

weekly snapshots

What a delightful sound the Junior Choir made on Friday morning as the Grades 2s and 3s sang together in harmony for the first time since 2019. We have really missed hearing this special sound at Micklefield. "Singing is the foundation of music" and if these voices are anything to go by, we are in for a real treat!
Thank you to Beatrix Bryan for her cello solo and Isabella van Koesveld for her piano solo, both played so beautifully in Senior Assembly this week.

Grade 6s and their parents attended a conflict resolution workshop on Saturday, in preparation for their role as Grade 7 school mediators next year. Some of the Grade 7s assisted Mrs Welgemoed to demonstrate how to mediate conflict in Fairy Tales!
