Being Brave

The theme for the Foundation Phase assembly was ‘Being Brave’. Girls shared moments when they remembered being scared to do something, and the feeling of elation when they conquered their fears. They then listened to a story written by bestselling author Pat Zietlow Miller. Her uplifting words inspire young readers to embrace their inner light – no matter what they’re facing – and to be brave.

SPORT FOCUS: GRIT AND RESILIENCE

We are proud of the way our girls are starting to apply their grit and resilience to their sport. They are seeing results in the weekly cross-country training runs where their time is recorded so by pushing through and putting in the extra effort, they are improving their times. This means they are getting fitter which filters onto the sports field/court.  The fitter our girls are, the easier it is to apply their skill on the hockey field or netball court.  Please continue to support us by pushing your daughters beyond their comfort zone, to let them experience success and failure and guide them on how to ‘fight back’, to push through and then enjoy the success on the other side. Not everyone is at the same level, but it is important for every girl to know their worth and to know that with hard work/practice, improvement will follow!

Please read and share with your daughter/s the following on the Edana App, under Documents, Sport and Extra-Murals.

  • Sofiya Variawa’s Grade 6 oral on grit and perseverance
