Wow, the Springboks certainly made us proud! A true display of grit, determination and brilliant team work. The conditions were not perfect, they lost one of their top front rowers in the first few minutes, but they played with heart and soul and left it all on the field.
Tennis fixtures are under way as are all early morning practices.
Please see the information for our Micklefield Tennis Academy in the Edana app under Documents, Sport/Extra-Murals
GALA DATES FOR TERM 4:
We would like to thank the Christian Club parents for faithfully bringing their daughters every Tuesday morning before school, especially through Winter and loadshedding! We have had such a wonderful response that we now have a lesson planned for Grade 00-3 and a new lesson for Grade 4-7 (same day and time). We feel that this is important to remain age appropriate and relevant to our girls. We would like to invite any Grade 4s to 7s to come and join this new, exciting space to learn more about Jesus. We all meet on a Tuesday at 07:15 – 07:45 in the Multi-function room. Geoff and Lindy Brien
We are looking for someone to run an early morning of afternoon chess club. Please contact Sandi Blackbeard if you are interested: sandi@micklefield.co.za
The grade 3 and 4 girls and their dads braved the inclement weather at their campout last Friday. The tents were pitched and the fires were lit whilst the fathers chatted and the girls played. Steve Sherman from Living Maths provided the entertainment, challenging both dads and daughters with a highly competitive game of Kahoot. Eventually, everyone settled into their tents and only the sounds of gentle snoring could be heard in the Micklefield playground.
Micklefield, for the second time, hosted the Grade 7 Maths Relay in our school hall, which once again proved to be a successful and enjoyable afternoon of interactive, ‘out-of-the-box’ problem-solving with 10 participating schools including Rondebosch, Rustenburg, The Grove, St Cyprians, Herschel, Springfield, Bishops, WPPS, Oakhurst and Micklefield. Teams were comprised of a mix of pupils from the various schools. There were 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes up for grabs, which added to the fun, competitive spirit of the afternoon. This is certainly going to be an annual event at Micklefield.
Oscar Wilde came to Micklefield this week – it such fun to dress up and act a comedy scene from one of his well known plays.
We were treated to a lovely variety of musical items in Junior Assembly this week. Thank you and well done to the following girls:
