Please note that Textbook online orders from Caxton need to be placed asap. According to Caxton’s new system, Textbooks will not be delivered to school, there is an option for home delivery or to collect directly from Caxton themselves.

Online orders for Gr 1-7 Back to School Stationery are open and grade lists have been e-mailed to parents. Stationery orders close on 8 November and collection from school is on 22 November.

OUTLIERS STATIONERY DRIVE

Please consider donating any unwanted gently used, good quality stationery to Outliers for their annual stationery drive. 20 house points will be awarded for every donation brought to the class teacher. Outliers run after-school programmes across the peninsula.

SECOND-HAND UNIFORM

The final sale of the year will be on 1 December from 12:30 – 14:30. The shop is needing a stock boost and would appreciate your donations!

GIFT COLLECTION

We are collecting children’s gifts for the Red Cross Children’s Hospital. Please donate good quality second-hand or new toys, games or books which will be given to the children at Christmas time. The Children’s Hospital Trust has asked us this year for the gifts not to be wrapped, please.

LOST PROPERTY

We are appealing to parents to PLEASE mark your daughter’s items of clothing.  We are still sitting with piles of unmarked items which are now going to be handed over to the Second-Hand Shop to be sold.  Going forward, we will return items that are marked to the pupil, but any unmarked items will be given to the Second-Hand Shop.

SCHOOL CAPS/HATS

Micklefield caps/hats are compulsory and all girls must have a cap/hat at school to wear at break time, Phys Ed lessons, and Sport Hour.

SPORT AND EXTRA-MURALS

Please check the Term 4 schedule (Edana App under Documentation) for the summer sport programme.

weekly snapshots

Micklefield Drama enthusiasts took to the stage this week to celebrate all things Drama. The young group dramatised  a story , The Little Jewel Box, a fairytale with the a twist, the Trinity Exam Students each performed one of their pieces and the older girls performed highlights from the year, which were highly entertaining!

Last week Friday we welcomed the SPCA and the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa, who brought along their four-legged friends. Both of the organizations were so thankful to receive their donations and they spent time informing the girls of animal care, safety, and maintenance.

We are pleased to hear that Gadija and Jamie’s donation will aid GreenPop in planting 30 trees. Thank you to Zoe Gauld-Angelucci from GreenPop who joined us in assembly for the handover.
It was such a pleasure to have Marilyn May from Atlantic Hope join us for the entrepreneurship assembly handover. She was touched by the efforts and selflessness of our Micklefield girls. Their donation will benefit her cause for caring and loving babies without a home.

Confidence, talent, and artistic flair were on display at the Grade 3 Open Day. The girls were also able to show off their hard work in the classroom with pride. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the morning and well done to all the girls and their teachers!
