The Buzz Boyz have been on our campus for three weeks and we are very excited to announce that they have added a medium roast coffee for those parents wanting something a little smoother.
There have been some concerns raised around the children buying hot chocolate in the morning. Please note the following:
We hope to see you all for a coffee and a chat one morning next week.
For the Grade 1-7 girls, as of Monday 29 April, we are going to trial tucking their pink shirts in, instead of wearing them out. Unfortunately the shirts have not been shaped as we hoped so they are looking a little untidy when worn out.
Please remind your daughters to tuck in when in their winter shirts.
Our Grade 6s will be having a sale, on Thursday 2 May, at first break, as part of their entrepreneurial project. Each group is raising funds for a charity of their choosing.
Please support our Grade 6s by sending in cash for this sale (notes of small denominations i.e. R10s and R20s). The items for sale will be up on the noticeboard from Monday.
No pro’s needed, it’s all about the fun. Play in Pink
We are very excited about the upcoming fun PARENT tournament being held at Arturf Padel Arena, Paarden Eiland.
The sign-up sheets will be coming out next Friday but there is limited space in this tournament so make sure to sign-up quickly.
This was such a fun competition at the Market.
The updated 2024 sport and extra-mural programme is available on the Edana App, under Documentation. Please check both the Term 1 and 4 (Summer) and the Term 2 and 3 (Winter) schedules when doing your planning. All information with regards to the private extra-murals on offer is available on the Edana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals. Please liaise directly with the extra-mural providers.
Match venues can only be confirmed the week before the match and will appear in the Friday newsletter. Please respect the coaches selection of teams for each week as they will move players around as and when they are ready. If you have any queries, please direct them to Sandi Blackbeard and not with the coaches directly.
In netball, substitutions may only be made at half time, unless it is for an injury. Those on the ‘reserve’ list will always play. In hockey, substitutions can be made throughout the match, hence the term, ‘rolling subs’ so often there are 2 players ‘on the bench’ as changes can be made all the time.
For all netball, hockey and cross-country practices, the girls MUST have their tracksuit tops or fleece to put on afterwards. Their hair MUST be tied back with clips or a suitable alice band. They cannot see where they are going and cannot possibly play to their best with their hair in the way. Jackets are always put on after sport, the girls are constantly reminded of this.

The 2024 Micklefield Market was a great success. We came together and celebrated the values of caring and community that Mickliefield upholds. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone – parents, girls, staff and the broader Micklefield community for their hard work which made this event so spectacular.
There were games played and prizes won, food bought and eaten, bravery tested in the ghost house and Ms Gray was challenged to a round of bumper cars.
Finance is still working out all the finer details before we release the final numbers…watch this space!
Whether you’re channeling your inner Hermione, climbing the Faraway Tree, or embarking on an adventure as Alice in Wonderland, Tuesday was all about celebrating the magic of books and storytelling!
Learning about online safety from Guts (Common Sense Education) to creating books, posters, presentations, sites, microbit coding, tinkercad and throwing in a bit of code blocks, we have been having so much fun in the IT department.
Pippa Schou was our Micklefield Grade 00 teacher for many years and is now assisting in the Library at Walmer Estate Primary, a school near District Six. Micklefield was able to donate our extra netball balls for the children to play with as they were using empty plastic cooldrink bottles!
